Throughout July we are launching our first ever products to celebrate the culinary cultures that refugees bring to Lewisham!
Syria
At our tasting this weekend we sampled the smokiest Mutabal, an aubergine dip, that tasted great alongside the light and creamy Humus. We also had Kabiss, an assortment of vinegar pickled vegetables with spices of the middle east, all made by local Syrian chefs.
Ecuador
Marco, our trustee who is also a political refugee from Ecuador, brought along his special recipe of Chimichurri. This vibrant, summery mix of herbs would taste great on some grilled vegetables as much as it would some more traditional grilled meat.
